Safeguarding manager
Job Description:
The Safeguarding Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and staff participating in sports activities and camps.
- They must implement policies and procedures to protecting children from maltreatment.
- Preventing impairment of children’s health or development.
- Taking action to enable all children have the best outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures in line with industry standards
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure all staff are trained in safeguarding practices
• Monitor and evaluate safeguarding measures to ensure effectiveness.
• Investigate any safeguarding concerns or incidents that arise
• Report findings to senior management and take appropriate action as necessary
• Work closely with external authorities to address safeguarding issues
• Provide support and guidance to staff and parents on safeguarding matters
• Promote a culture of safeguarding awareness within the organisation
• Stay up to date with legislation and best practices in safeguarding
Qualifications
• Qualifications in social work, child protection, or a related field
• Previous experience working in safeguarding or similar role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
